Definition of Lower Boundary: |
Outgoing of dominantly semipelite or pelitic slaty lithologies or the outgoing of variable green to rusty weathering arenites, wackes and semipelites; incoming of cleaner, coarse-grained quartzose arenites. |
Definition of Upper Boundary: |
Incoming of variable arenite, wacke and semipelitic lithologies, and more matrix-rich rocks in general. |

Geographical Limits: |
Currently only defined within Sheet 38e (aberfoyle), where it occurs locally on either side of the Aberfoyle Slate and the Loch Katrine Volcaniclastic Formation in synformal folds; similar lithology known from Ben Lomond. |
