Lithological Description: |
[Obsolete: use DRCR] This is probably only a working name used at the commencement of resurvey, and possibly refers to exposures of conglomerates in the Burn of Glasslaw [NO 861 839] that crosses the Dunottar-Crawton and Arbuthnot-Garvock south-west of Stonehaven. |

Geographical Limits: |
The extent of the Crawton part of the Dunnottar-Crawton Group is quite modest and restricted to a narrow area south and west of Stonehaven and two small inliers near Alyth. There are conglomerates within the Crawton Volcanic Formation but not obviously associated with a burn of that name. However, there is a Glaslaw Burn near Stonehaven that crosses Crawton Volcanic Formation and sandstone and conglomerate of the Dunnottar-Crawton Group at NO 861 839. The maps of this area, purportedly Kincardineshire 20NE on the GDI are of Bervie, further south and so incorrect. This may be the source of the Glasslin name. |
