Lithological Description: Mature bioturbated, predominantly white quartz arenite with Skolithos burrows.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Conformable and gradational boundary with underlying Basal Quartzite Member.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Defined at the distinct boundary with the overlying Fucoid Beds Member of the An t-Sron Formation.
Thickness: 75 m - 100 m thick.
Geographical Limits: The Eriboll Formation (including the Pipe Rock Member) forms a narrow belt, extending along the north-western side of Scotland from the Durness-Eriboll area, through Assynt, Dundonnell, Kinlochewe and Kishorn, to Skye.
