Polished Section. Altered volcanic rock with abundant feldspar microphenocrysts and opaque pseudomorphs after mafic minerals. Amygdales less distinct but up to 1mm and more irregular interstitial infills present. Infills show complex pattern of early carbonate + silica, carbonate, quartz + clay. Some areas of green smectite. |
