Lithological Description: [Obsolete: use FWW] Thick red fine-grained sandstones alternating with subordinate mudstones and rare intraformational conglomerates.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Drawn at the base of the Hillside-Dolomite Formation where dolomitised intraformational conglomerate with sandstone conformably rests upon coarse-sandstone with minor intraformational conglomerate of the Ditton Group.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Drawn at the conformable upward passage of the Abdon Limestone Formation where nodular to massive pedogenic limestone underlies coarser olive buff and green sandstone with minor intraformational conglomerate of the Clee Formation.
Thickness: 60-70m approx.
Geographical Limits: The Clee Hills area, Shropshire.
