Lithological Description: Red lithic sandstones, quartzite conglomerates and lava pebble conglomerates common towards the top of the succession, withnd one grey pyroxene andesite lava intercalation.
Definition of Lower Boundary: The top of the Basal Quartz Sandstone Formation.
Definition of Upper Boundary: The sandstone of the Auchencar Sandstone Formation, and the top of the Creag Mhor Conglomerate Member are overlain by the base of the Machrie Burn and Allt an Brighide Siltstones of the Am Binnein Sandstone Formation.
Thickness: About 450 - 500 m thick.
Geographical Limits: Machrie to Glen Rosa, Arran.
