Lithological Description: Ophitic olivine microgabbro (dolerite) with augite, labradorite-andesine and minor magnetite.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Sharp sub-vertical boundary with sandstone of the Downton Castle Sandstone Formation. Locally, microgabbro (dolerite) intrudes as thin sills in the flaggy lower beds of the sandstone.
Definition of Upper Boundary: none recorded or not applicable
Thickness: At least 3 m.
Geographical Limits: 1.8 km long outcrop, trends northwest-southeast [SO 9349 8778–9364 8770], southwest of Netherton.
Parent Unit: Dudley Basaltic Sill-and-vent-swarm (DUDB)
