Lithological Description: Psammite, dark-grey, with semipelitic layers. Commonly striped appearance. Semipelite layers are up to 1 m thick, are garnetiferous, and comprise <40% of the sequence. Locally contains remnants of cross-bedding.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Overlies the remainder of Glascarnoch Psammite Formation (or: locally the 'Boc Nor Psammite'. Gradational boundary where pale coloured psammite grades into dark-grey psammite of the Ben Killilan Psammite Member.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Stratigraphic top not known: cut by the overlying Sgurr Beag Thrust.
