Lithological Description: Pale to medium grey calcareous siltstone with thin lenticular or concretionary sandy and silty limestones and a few thin medium to dark grey mudstone beds; pale to medium grey, fine-grained, silty massive and bioturbated calcareous sandstones developed in lower part.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Base of sediments as described above resting erosively on mudstone of Oxford Clay or (locally) mudstone, siltstone or sandstone of Kellaways Formation; small phosphatic pebbles at base in some sections.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Base of silty mudstones and mudstones of overlying beds of West Walton Formation undifferentiated.
Thickness: 0 to c.18m
Geographical Limits: Humberside, Worlaby to Market Weighton (Gaunt et al., 1992)
