Lithological Description: Thin basal breccia of angular schist clasts overlain by conglomerate dominantly of rounded clasts of quartzite with minor vein quartz and volcanic rock.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Unconformable on Precambrian (Dalradian Supergroup).
Definition of Upper Boundary: Gradational with succeeding Ballyagan Formation by loss of conglomerates and increase in volcaniclastic detritus.
Thickness: 0-600m (0-1968ft)
Geographical Limits: Northeast County Antrim between Cushendun and Cushendall on the northeast flank of Cross Slieve.
