Definition of Lower Boundary: Drawn at base of basal conglomerate of the Caerfai Group where it rests unconformably on slates and tuffs of the Ogofgolchfa Group.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Drawn at conformable upward passage from purple-red sandstone of the Caerbwdy Sandstone to coarse, pebbly sandstone of the Solva Group.
Thickness: 400m approx.
Geographical Limits: South-west Wales.
