Lithological Description: Limestone, bluish-grey, crystalline, commonly thinly banded, with chert lenses. Blocky to flaggy, rarely massive. Tight to isoclinal internal folding common in parts.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Lower limit of crystalline limestone within pelites and semipelites of Tornahaish Dark Schist and Limestone Formation.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Upper limit of crystalline limestone within Tornahaish Dark Schist and Limestone Formation. Schistose calcareous semipelite above. Thence non-calcareous semipelite.
Thickness: 12 - 20m. Typically 15m, may be thinner and impure by Allargue House.
Geographical Limits: On Upper Donside, mainly near Corgarff and Corgarff Castle. Intermittent outcrops extend southeast from Tornahaish to Mammie Hill: also north of Delnadamph.
