Lithological Description: Sandstones, mudstones, siltstones and limestones of the Valhall Formation, Rødby Formation, Carrack Formation, Britannia Sandstone Formation and Wick Formation. Originally erected by Rhys (1974), emended by Deegan and Scull (1977) and further revised by Johnson and Lott (1993).
Definition of Lower Boundary: A downward change from the Valhall and Wick Sandstone formations in the lower part of Cromer Knoll Group to the mainly argillaceous Kimmeridge Clay Formation of the Humber Group.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Downward change from the chalks of the Chalk Group and the calcareous and chalky mudstones, of the Svarte Formation of the Shetland Group, to the Rødby Formation at the top of the Cromer Knoll Group.
