Definition of Lower Boundary: Drawn at the base of the Dundarg Sandstone Formation (Crovie Sandstone Group) where it rests unconformably upon rocks of the Macduff Formation: conglomerate resting upon schist.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Unconformably overlain by the Middle Devonian Gardenstown Congomerate Formation (GDC) of the Inverness Sandstone Group.
Thickness: c.275m
Geographical Limits: Crovie, near Banff, in the Grampian region.
Parent Unit: Old Red Sandstone Supergroup (ORS)
