Definition of Lower Boundary: Drawn at the base of the Craighill Sandstone Group where sandstone rests conformably upon limestone of the Fell Sandstone Group.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Drawn at the conformable upward passage of sandstone of the Craighill Sandstone Group to sandstone with thicker limestone units of the Birdoswald Group.
Thickness: 233 metres approx.
Geographical Limits: Brampton district.
