Definition of Lower Boundary: Overlie Vivod Group (or M. Leintwardinensis Beds) of Wills and Smith, 1922. Junction not seen. Vivod Group consists of thinly bedded flaggy mudstones.
Definition of Upper Boundary: None - occurs in the core of the Llangollen Syncline.
Thickness: Up to about 225 m thick.
Geographical Limits: Between Llangollen and Pontcysyllte, Dee Valley (Vale of Llangollen) Clwyd.
