Lithological Description: Red, cream and green siltstones, alternating with fine-grained cream sandstones, coarser pebbly sandstones and thin partings of red or green mudstone.
Definition of Lower Boundary: The top of the coarser-grained sandstone within the Glenvale Sandstone Formation.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Drawn at the conformable upward passage from siltstone and sandstones of the Dura Den Member to the white or cream sandstones of the Knox Pulpit Sandstone Formation.
Thickness: Approximately 40 m thick.
Geographical Limits: The Stratheden area of the Midland Valley of Scotland, on sheets 40E (uncertain), 48E and 49. Additionally a thin lens-shaped unit is restricted to the Cupar area.
Parent Unit: Glenvale Sandstone Formation (GEF)
