Definition of Lower Boundary: Unconformable (blanket) on all older Quarternary deposits.
Definition of Upper Boundary: The ground surface.
Thickness: Typically 5-10m thick but up to 15m thick in type area.
Geographical Limits: 1:50k Sheets 37 Gosforth and 38 Whitehaven, Western Cumbria, (and could be applied to coastal Blown Sand along the Cumbria-Lancashire coasts).
