Lithological Description: Halite, in thick beds up to 12m thick, interbedded with mudstone, reddish-brown, blocky ,with abundant halite nodules and veins.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Conformable, and drawn at the abrupt or slightly gradational upward transition from reddish brown mudstone (Sidmouth Mudstone Formation, undivided) to halite at the base of the Droitwich Halite Member.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Conformable, and drawn at the abrupt or slightly gradational upward transition from halite at the top of the Droitwich Halite Member to the reddish brown mudstone of the Sidmouth Mudstone Formation (undivided).
Thickness: 159m in type section
Geographical Limits: Droitwich area, Worcester Basin, west of Inkberrow Fault.
