Lithological Description: A conglomerate with rounded clasts up to 0.6m across, mainly of 'Highland' provenance.
Definition of Lower Boundary: At the base of the lowest thick development of cobble conglomerate at Stonehaven Bay overlying brown and grey sandstones of the Carron Sandstone Formation.
Definition of Upper Boundary: The base of the Strathlethan Sandstone Member, which is base of the lowest volcaniclastic sandstone bed, resting on conglomerate.
Thickness: Up to 225 m thick.
Geographical Limits: Stonehaven area.
