Lithological Description: Sandstone, fawn to pale brown and pale grey, iron-stained, micaceous, calcareous, unfossiliferous, parallel laminations, ripple cross-bedding, bioturbated, fine- to medium-grained, quartz arenite to subarkose.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Below base of main sandstone are blue-grey bioclastic packstones with low sand content which increases in basal few centimetres, conformable on normal Ballyshannon Limestone Formation.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Directly underlies micritised limestones of Ederny Limestone Member; conformable.
Thickness: c.2.7m
Geographical Limits: Restricted to northeast corner of the Kesh-Omagh area of the northwest Carboniferous basin of Ireland.
Parent Unit: Ballyshannon Limestone Formation (BAL)
