Lithological Description: Sandy diamictons (till), sands, gravels, silts and clays. Clasts are derived predominantly from weathered Neoproterozoic metamorphic rocks (psammite, meta-wacke sandstone, slate) and Caledonian igneous rocks (granite, granodiorite, gabbro). Deposited from ice that radiated from the Eastern Grampian mountains.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Sharp, unconformable contact with bedrock.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Unconformably overlain by deposits of the Caledonia Glacigenic Group.
Thickness: Up to 10 m.
Geographical Limits: The east Grampian Highlands, Cairngorm Mountains and Gaick Plateau.
Parent Unit: Albion Glacigenic Group (ALBI)
