Definition of Lower Boundary: Transitional incoming of a predominantly sandstone succession belonging to the Eastgate Sandstone Member above the Kirk Hill Conglomerate Member of the Westgate Formation
Definition of Upper Boundary: The fairly sharp base of the greywacke-pebble bearing Greywacke Conglomerate Formation above the predominantly sandstone succession of the Eastgate Sandstone Member of the Westgate Formation
Thickness: To 400m
Geographical Limits: Carmichael Inlier near Carmichael, Lanarkshire, Scotland
