Lithological Description: Red-brown silty mudstone with a few sandstones and beds with nodules of pedogenic limestone.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Conformable on the underlying Doughend Sandstone Member and marked by a change from yellow sandstone with a few concretionary nodules to red-brown mudstone and siltstone of the Foulport Mudstone Member (Monro, 1999).
Definition of Upper Boundary: Conformable and overlain by variegated sandstones with concretions of the West Bay Cornstone Member.
Thickness: About 200 m. BGS (2008) gave a generalised thickness of 198 m for the member.
Geographical Limits: Cumbrae Islands in Strathclyde, Scotland.
Parent Unit: Kinnesswood Formation (KNW)
