Lithological Description: Dark reddish brown clay, silt and very fine-grained sand, generally thinly laminated and locally varved. Sparse dropstones.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Unconformable boundary with red diamicton of the underlying Gillcambon Till Formation, or on bedrock.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Generally a sharp, planar, or gradational glacitectonic boundary with red diamicton correlated with the Plumpe Bridge Till Member of the Gretna Till Formation.
Thickness: 10m or more.
Geographical Limits: The Solway Lowlands around Carlisle.
Parent Unit: Irish Sea Coast Glacigenic Subgroup (ISCG)
