Definition of Lower Boundary: Top of Inchrory Limestone, where limestone gives way sharply to pelite.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Incoming of persistent psammite bands at base of Ladder Hills Formation.
Thickness: >600m, ignoring any repetition/thickening due to folding.
Geographical Limits: River Deveron, 6.5km west of Huntly, through the east side of Glenfiddich, the Braes of Glenlivet to the south, to the east of the River Avon to the Glen Gairn Granite.
Parent Unit: Blair Atholl Subgroup (DABA)
