Definition of Upper Boundary: | Plane below the Cravenoceras malhamense Marine Band where sequence changes gradationally from being predominantly sandstone to being predominantly mudstone of the Bowland Shale Formation. | ||
Thickness: | 7m at Hind Clough (probable maximum thickness), 1.7 at Blue Scar, 1.27m at the Trough of Bowland. | ||
Geographical Limits: | Not identified outside Bowland Fells area, except at Dinkley where exposed in River Ribble section. | ||
