Alternating beds of grey feldspathic, medium-grained turbiditic sandstone and grey siltstone with beds of grey laminated siltstone and silty mudstone. Sandstone beds carry washed fossil debris, mainly of molluscs. |

Presumed transitional with underlying Ponesk Burn Formation, but actual boundary is a fault. |

Base of lowest thick fine-grained greywacke bed of the Castle Formation. |
