Lithological Description: Coarse, buff-weathering, medium-grey pebbly grit with scattered boulders of dolerite, spilite lava and red granite. Some intercalated mudstones and siltstones yielding a brachiopod fauna.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Discrete lenticular pebbly and conglomeratic member within the flaggy sandstones, siltstones and mudstones of the Ardwell Farm Formation and located about 150m above the base of the formation.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Discrete lenticular pebbly and conglomeratic member within the flaggy sandstones, siltstones and mudstones of the Ardwell Farm Formation and located about 150m above the base of the formation.
Thickness: 0 to 73m
Geographical Limits: Girvan area, southwest Scotland.
