Unbedded gravel of large, closely packed, unabraded flints in a matrix of white, locally brown-stained, clay and a little sand. |
| Definition of Lower Boundary: |
Junction with underlying Upper Greensand marked by a sandy flint-free bed up to 12.5cm thick containing well rounded quartz and schorl pebbles (Pickard, 1949). |
| Definition of Upper Boundary: |
Overlain by the Buller's Hill Gravel (fluvial flint gravel). |

| Geographical Limits: |
Great and Little Haldon Hill, south Devon; also occurs within dissolution pipes and hollows near Kingsteignton (Brunsden and others, 1976). |
