Lithological Description: Dark brown (Munsell Soil colour) clay with laminae of silt and fine-grained sand, and sparse dropstone pebbles. Rhythmic graded lamination is common.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Sharp, undulating, unconformable contact with pale red stony clay diamicton and cobble gravel of the Holmrook Till Member of the Blengdale Glacigenic Formation.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Generally sharp, planar, glacitectonic, unconformable contact with dark reddish brown pebbly silty clay diamicton of the Green Croft Till Member of the Aikbank Farm Glacigenic Formation.
Thickness: To 24.7m
Geographical Limits: Lower Wasdale, West Cumbria, inland of the limit of ice of the Irish Sea Ice Stream during the "Gosforth Oscillation".
