Author statement Original geological survey at 1:63 360 scale by W.T. Aveline, J.B. Jukes, A.C. Ramsay and A.R. Selwyn. Published as parts of Old Series sheets 59 and 60 between 1848 and 1855. Small areas along the northern margin of the sheet surveyed by P.N. Dunkley (University of Wales) between 1973 and 1975, western margin by W.T. Pratt in 1991 and eastern margin by R. Cave between 1998 and 2002. Survey of Superficial Deposits of the Dyfi Valley at 1:20 000 scale by J.R. Davies and P.R. Wilby in 2004 and 2005, funded by the Environment Agency. Resurvey of remaining areas at 1:20 000 scale by C.E. Burt, J.R. Davies, M. Hall, A.B. Leslie, D.I. Schofield, J. Venus, P.R. Wilby and D.
