Author statement Original geological survey on the one-inch scale by F.J. Bennett. W.H. Dalton, Henry Howell, W.H. Penning, W. Whitaker and others. Published on the Old Series sheets 46 N.E., 47, 51 S.W. and 52 S.E. in 1864-1884. Partly re-surveyed on the six-inch scale in 1886-1892 by A.G.C. Cameron. Revised and re-surveyed on the six-inch scale in 1930-1934, the western half by R.L. Sherlock, the eastern half by E.E.L. Dixon. H. Dewey, C.H. Dinham and F.H. Edmunds, District Geologists. 
Published statement Published 1949. Reconstituted from one-inch scale with revision of vertical and horizontal sections only and reprinted on to 1st Series 1:50 000 base 1976. Print code: 1500/76.
