Author statement Original geological survey at 1:63 360 scale by W.H. Penning, A.J. Jukes-Browne and others. Published on Old Series Sheets 47, 51 SW and 51 SE in 1881 and 1882. Partly resurveyed at 1:10 560 scale by H.G. Dines in 1930-31. Additional revision on the north and west margins at 1:10 560 scale by S.C.A.Holmes, E.E.F. Dixon and J.H. Taylor in 1938 and 1952. Southern margin south of grid line 40 surveyed at 1:10 560 and 1:10 000 scale by J. Zalasiewicz, P.I. Manning, A. Horton and B.S.P. Moorlock in 1978-83. Eastern margin east of grid line 67 surveyed at 1:10 000 scale by N.G. Berridge in 1987. Revised at 1:10 000 scale by B.S.P Moorlock, K.R. Royse and A.J. Humpage in 2000. P.J.
